This is my very first "Fruit Basket". I chose
to create a raspberry as I've seen many
other fruits and vegetables, but never a raspberry.
It is made with fine brown ash wood,
dyed to a shiny wine color,
golden light brown and green.
everything is made of wood or sweet grass.
the leaves are made of ash wood and secured with
small strand of ash wood also.
Price upon request. Measurements: 3" tall x 1.5" across

Blue Porcupine
I made this basket the night before my first show at the Bar Harbor festival and Basket market in July 2013. I used natural and dyed blue ash wood, braided sweet grass, and did a porcupine weave every other row. This was purchased by the Abbe museum in bar harbor, Maine. It was purchased for the Diane Kopec collection: New acquisitions 2013.
This is a huge honor.
The basket is 4.5" tall X 5" across. The top is over lapped instead of fitted to just sit on top like most of my other baskets. This technique is much more difficult and challenging.

Medium earth-tone "bow tie" basket
I made this basket specifically for the bar harbor show. All fine brown ash wood, natural and dyed brown for the lid. Used braided sweetgrass for the top and for the extended braided binding which was then tied into a 'bow-tie' and secured with a tiny piece of wood. Instead of using my "larger weaving style" I used very small weavers for the bottom/basket part. For the top I used larger weavers giving it a very unique look.

Large "bean jar basket"
This basket was weaved over an old bean jar. It was extremely challenging to do. It took me 3 weeks to complete this basket. the bottom is dyed purple and maroon brown ash weavers. As I got to the wider part of the jar I weaved in over 100 strands of tiny braided sweet grass. The middle and top to the basket was natural and dyed small weavers this was hardest part of basket as it is important to make it as tight as possible and without and holes. This is perfect to display spring/summer flowers or anything you want, as the jar is still intact inside of the basket.
Measurements: 6.5" tall X 5.5 " wide.

Medium natural "star-handle" basket
The basket on the left was made with all natural colored brown ash wood and sweet grass. There is one yellow weaver on the lid. The handle is a very traditional-style handle taught to me by my mentor. The handle is ash wood tightly curled until it's thick enough to weave in a "star" shaped design to hold the curled wood together. Very intricate and tricky handle to create but stunning when used. (basket on the right is still for sale and the handle has been replaced with a sea-shell from bar harbor, ME.)
measurements: 5.5" tall X 5" across
